So what's up with our name and how do you pronounce it?

CentriPedal is not a real word. It’s a combination of the words CentripeTal and Pedal.

cen·trip·e·tal [sen-trip-i-tl] is an adjective that means directed toward the center (opposed to centrifugal) as in operating by centripetal force.  Simply put, it’s the inward force exerted towards the middle of a rotating object and is part of reason why one can balance while riding a bicycle.

How do you pronounce “centripedal?”  Like Centripetal: [sen-TRIP-i-dl]

There you have it!

Our Team

From professional bike repair and fitting services to top cycling products at exceptional prices, we've got you covered.

My wife and I opened CentriPEDAL Bikes on June 21st, 2012. We have been residents of the Tri-City area since 1994.  I taught at James Logan High School for 17 years before deciding to turn my passion of cycling into a career.

Alex is our Service Manager.  He probably owns every bicycle tool that exists.  Trained in Shimano, SRAM, and Campognolo, he loves to work on bikes and nurse them back to health.  He has worked in many parts of the industry and raced for Team Fremont.  He love's 80's rock.

Sales Associate - Renzo is finishing up his final year of high school.  Since joining us he has built his first road/fixed-gear bike as well as a BMX bike.  He enjoys ska and reggae music but mostly would be canoeing in the bay with his team if he didn't have to be in school.

Sales Lead - A long time customer turned employee, Felicia will set you up with a bike you'll love for a long time.  Ask her about her Liv Tempt or the 49ers and you'll have an immediate friend.

Bicycle Mechanic/Sales Associate - Marcos first love is cars but his mechanical expertise has transferred to bikes well.  He loves BMX riding as well as hitting the trails on his new Trance X.

Bicycle Mechanic - Wayne worked in the tech sector for many years before retiring.  His wife said he was causing too much trouble at home so he helps us out during the week.

Sales Associate/Bicycle Assembler- Shrieen was a swim instructor for a long time who came in one day to get a bike to help her commute.  Her interest in bikes and desire to try something new gave us a great new team member.  Shireen is happy to help you find the best bike for you needs.

Bicycle Assembler/Sales -  Alan rides his mountain bike on the local trails for fun (yes that photo is correct, the shirt is printed that way).   Currently Alan is around the shop during holidays and summer due college in Idaho.
