Mission Peak Composite NICA Team

Junior High & High School Mountain Bike Team

Our team is open to all High School and Junior High School Students in Fremont, Newark, and Union City.  We meet Wednesday's at 4 pm at the store for training rides. Rides are approximately 2 hours and are designed for fun, skill, and endurance training.  Rides from the store will be to Coyote Hills, Garin Park, or Vargas Plateau. Other rides may meet at trail heads at Mission Peak, Pleasanton Ridge, or Sunol Wilderness.  Check out or Instagram here.

Cost

$90/year for athletes

$25/year for coaches + $12 background check

Races are approximately $50/race. 

Athletes and coaches are required to sign an online waiver and agree to the NICA philosophy.  Parents are strongly encouraged to be involved as volunteers (free!) but can also participate as Ride Leaders or Coaches.  Any adult can participate as a Ride Leader or Coach.  A background check from NICA is required for all adults coaches and ride leaders.  All fees and waivers can be completed online.  Contact James Rardin for information or to request an invitation to join the team.

• Mountain Bike style bicycle in working order
• Water (either bottle and cage on bike or hydration backpack)
• Multi-tool & tire levers
• Air pump
• Spare tube for your wheel size (even if running tubeless)
